Welcome to the Graduate School of Architecture (GSA) – Africa’s largest post-graduate school of architecture. After years of occupying a variety of different facilities, this year we celebrate the move to our new home at the former Media 24 Building at 69 Kingsway, Auckland Park now known as JBS : Park.
The new space – GSA : Home – offers generous workspaces for students for studio-based learning, a range of pin-up and exhibition spaces, computer facilities, a Making space and a variety of other amenities that we are confident will enhance the work of the staff and students of the GSA community. Over the course of 2022 we have been hosting discrete events at the venue and the beginning of the academic year 2023 will represent the official move into the new space.
We look forward to our new space and to an exciting line-up of Units which will increase from six to nine Units this year. Units and Programme Leaders will be making full presentations of their proposed research for the year in the first weeks of the semester.
We look forward to what promises to be an exciting year ahead.
