Matt Kay is a photographer whose wonderfully mercurial and autobiographical work, depicts the passing of people and places in portraits and landscapes. Matt considers his work as his claim to being present. Matt has exhibited in South Africa and abroad and has been the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships.
Our project consisted of the design of a wordmark and a website to showcase Matt’s work. We designed a horizontally oriented site, that made use of white space and elegant typography to avoid distraction from his photography. The site we developed is fully responsive and included a facility for users to toggle between black and white backgrounds while viewing the work.
